Richard Marquis Obituary

NASHUA- Richard E. Marquis, 89, died peacefully Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife Pauline (Savoie) Marquis with whom he shared 68 years of marriage.

Richard was born in Nashua on April 2, 1930, and was the son of the late Jean Baptiste and Eva (Soucy) Marquis.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard until he was honorably discharged.

For many years, he was employed as an industrial electrician for International Paperbox as well as Nashua Corp, where he retired from.

In his free time, Richard loved traveling to Florida for the past 25 years, where he enjoyed being active in the management of Hidden Harbor Condo Association in Cape Canaveral. Above all, he truly cherished the time with his family who he loved dearly.

In addition to his wife Pauline, he is survived by his children, Paul Marquis and his wife Arlene of Litchfield and Jeanne Demanche and her husband Jerry of Mason; his seven grandchildren, Adam, Peter, David, Daniel, Sam, Nathan, and Laura; as well as his two great-grandchildren Amelia and Lincoln. Richard is also survived by his sister Sylvian Wright of Nashua.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Emily and his brother, Conrad Marquis.

Relatives and friends are invited to Richard’s visitation on Saturday, February 8th at 9 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will follow in the church at 10 AM. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
