Richard J. Roberts, Sr., 64, died peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and listening to his favorite song. He is the beloved husband of Bernadette (Liscio) Roberts with whom he shared 39 beautiful years of marriage.
Richard was born in Herkimer, New York on March 27, 1958, and was the son of the late John and Flora (McGraw) Roberts. He received his education in the New York School System and was a graduate of Mohawk Central High School in Mohawk, NY. Richard also served in the United States Air Force from March 1978 to March 1982 with honors. He was stationed in Okinawa and North Carolina as a munitions maintenance specialist.
For 12 years, he was employed as an electronic technician for Zoll Medical were he was tasked to troubleshoot defibrillators at the component level. This role allowed him to save countless lives across the world during his tenure.
Richard will forever be remembered for his kind, generous and helpful soul. Always giving the best advice. He was constantly willing to lend a helping hand and touched many lives over his lifetime. He truly cherished time spent with his family especially his time with his grandchildren, who he loved deeply. There are no words to express how much he touched those who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Bernadette, he is survived by his two sons, Richard Roberts Jr. of Derry and Andrew Roberts of Nashua; his two grandchildren, Kiara Roberts and Owen Roberts; his siblings, Heidi Benson and her husband Jim of Ilion NY, Joy Roberts of Herkimer NY, John Roberts and his significant other Yuanita Charles of Herkimer NY, Paul Singer of Herkimer NY, step mother Marlene Roberts of Ilion NY, his step siblings Kathleen Harris of Ilion NY, Thomas Guzik of CO, Julie McDowell and husband Robert of Ilion NY, brother-in-law Nicholas Liscio of Herkimer NY and brother-in-law Randy Mccaw of Ilion NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many loving friends.
Richard was predeceased by his grandson, Devin Matthew Roberts, and his sister Cindy McCaw, his mother and father-in-law Rocco and Ida Liscio and sister-in-law Cheryl Liscio
Relatives and friends are invited to Richard's visitation on SUNDAY, April 10th from 1 until 3:30 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21
Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home at 3:30 PM. Interment will take place at the convenience of his family. Donations may be made in Richard's name to COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd, Miami, FL 33134.
