Richard “Dick” Paul Moraros, 87, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. He is the beloved husband of Freda (Bellon) Moraros with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.
Dick was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on April 14, 1938 and was the son of the late Pantilly Moraros and Stella Mary (Lewandoski) Hayes. He received his education in the Nashua School System.
He spent his career as an aircraft mechanic working for various companies including, Eastern, US Air, and American Airlines until his retirement.
Dick was a man who found joy in every corner of the outdoors. He enjoyed golf and embraced the peace and challenge it offered, and he loved spending time hunting, fishing, and shooting; activities that kept him connected to the natural world he treasured. He was a longtime member of both Lone Pine Hunters Club in Hollis and Horse Pond Fish & Game Club in Nashua. In his younger years he also loved to ski, carving through winter slopes with the same energy he brought to life. Above all, Dick cherished the time he spent with his family, holding those moments closest to his heart.
In addition to his wife, Freda, he is survived by his four children, Anthony Merle Johnson and his wife Tammy of Nashua, Mark Denver Johnson and his significant other Nancy Benoit of Mirror Lake, NH, Richard Paul Moraros Jr. and his wife Karen of Hollis and Michael Leonard Moraros and his wife Sandra of Mirror Lake, NH; his eight grandchildren, Adam Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Jenna Johnson, Jillian Johnson, Arielle Nguyen, Alyssa Hall, and Nicholas Moraros. He is also survived by his four great-grandchildren, Madison Johnson, Kaizen Nguyen, Graclyn Holt, and Isabel Holt; his sister Linda Wright and her husband William of Nashua; as well as his nieces, Tracy Moraros and Kim Chapman.
Dick’s presentation of military honors and graveside service will be held in the summer of 2026 at the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, Boscawen.
