Rita Morin Obituary

NASHUA- Rita (Gagnon-King) Morin, 90, died peacefully Tuesday morning, April 17, 2018 at Fairview Healthcare in Hudson, surrounded by her loving family. Rita was predeceased by her beloved first husband, Alfred W. King in 1985 as well as her second loving husband, Leo A. Morin, who passed in 1995.

Rita was born in Nashua on January 18, 1928 and was the daughter of the late George E. and Lauretta C. (Lefebvre) Gagnon.

Prior to her retirement, Rita was employed by Sanders Associates for 13 years.

In her early years, she enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with her husband. Rita truly loved music and sang at many weddings and funerals. She was a member of the St. Louis de Gonzague Choir for 57 years as well as the choir at St. Joseph the Worker Parish; and was also involved in the Actorsingers in the 60’s and 70’s. She was most proud of her accomplishment of singing “Ave Maria” to Pope John Paul II, twice. In her later years, she continued her passion for singing and enjoyed being a member of the Silver Lining Senior Actorsingers, The Bel-Tones. Rita was also a soloist in the Nashua Choral Society for 10 years, a member of the Joyful Notes, and the St. Louis Ladies’ Guild. You could always find her knitting and crocheting; she made 100’s of blankets over the years and donated them to local nursing homes.  Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family who she loved dearly.

Rita is survived by her three daughters, Linda Desjarlais of Meredith, NH, Marie King of Hampton, NH, and Nancy Margerum of Mansfield, MA; her son Bill King of Manchester; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Rita is also survived by her brother, Maurice Gagnon and his wife Jeannette of Nashua; her brother-in-law Ronald Desrochers of Nashua; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rita was predeceased by her son Robert King, her daughter Vivian Chamness and her husband Fred; her son-in-law Mark Margerum; and her sisters, Jeannette Gagnon and Lucille Desrochers.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on FRIDAY, April 20th from 3 until 7 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral will be held on SATURDAY, April 21st at 10 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua.
