Robert Lewis Courtemanche

 Robert Lewis Courtemanche, 86, died peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Claudette (Labrie) Courtemanche with whom he shared 52 years of marriage until her passing in September of 2010.

Robert was born in Montpelier, Vermont on December 2, 1935, and was the son of the late Alban and Helen (Tyrrell) Courtemanche. He received his education in the Hudson, NH School System and was a graduate of the Class of 53. Following high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War until he was honorably discharged in June of 1962.

For all of his life, he was a talented carpenter and contractor, working for himself over many years as well as a Sheetmetal Mechanic and Field Service Supervisor at CG Sargents and Son for over 10 years. 

In his free time, Robert was an avid woodworker and fisherman. He cherished time he spent with his grandchildren teaching them how to fish. He enjoyed camping and was a world traveler. Whether his destinations were for work or enjoyment, he was able to experience different parts of the world. His favorites were Tennessee and Arizona. Above all, his favorite time was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved deeply. Robert was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Nashua as well as the American Legion of Nashua.

Robert is survived by his two children, William Courtemanche and his wife Lisa of Merrimack and Debbie Provencher and her husband Jamie of Merrimack; four grandchildren, Travis Courtemanche and his wife Sara, Alisha Thayer and her husband Zach, Kayla Jones and her husband Justin, and Jill Provencher; his five great-grandchildren, Bill, Ben, Clyde, Madelynn and Jack. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Dowling of Concord and his in-laws, Bob and Lorraine Pelletier and Lynn Labrie; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Robert was predeceased by his wife Barbara Courtemanche.

Relatives and friends are invited to Robert’s visitation on SATURDAY, December 10th from 10 AM until 12 Noon at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home at 12 Noon. Interment will be held at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery, Boscawen, NH on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 11AM.  Kindly meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s name to the Bedford VA Home, Bedford VAMC, 200 Springs Road, #135, Bedford, MA, Check memo line: “62C” or to Dementia Society of America, P.O.
