Robert John Ferreira, 85, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Lamb) Ferreira with whom he shared 49 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2015.
Robert was born in Lowell, MA on January 20, 1937, and was the son of the late John T. and Mary (Brady) Ferreira. He received his education in the Lowell School System and continued his education at Fitchburg State, graduating with his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War until he was honorable discharged in May of 1958.
For over 45 years, he was employed as a technician in the quality control department at Raytheon until his retirement.
In his free time, Robert enjoyed bowling and golfing. He also loved to travel to various destinations however his trips to Portugal and Vegas were always his favorite. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and was an active parishioner at St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Wherever Robert resided he loved being apart of the community and engaged in countless hours of volunteer work in Lowell, Westford and Nashua. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family and friends over a casual get together or at parties.
Robert is survived by his six children, Robin Rousseau and her husband Ronald of Manchester, Teresa McGinley of Milford, Robert Joseph Ferreira of Ashland, MA, Cheryl Ferreira of Beaverton, OR, John Ferreira and Niki Palmer of Westford, MA, and James Ferreira and his wife Megan of Long Island, NY; as well as his 12 grandchildren; and his two siblings, Jack Ferreira of Westford and Barbara Daly of Westford; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Robert’s visitation on SUNDAY, June 19th from 4 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on MONDAY, June 20th at 10 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment and presentation of military honors to follow at 12:30 PM in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH. KINDLY MEET AT THE CEMETERY. Donations may be made in Robert’s name to the Knights of Columbus.
