Robert Lemieux passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was the son of Juliette (Gagnon) Lemieux and Ovilla Edward Lemieux. Robert was born on August 5, 1946 in Nashua NH. He was raised in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High class of 1964.
Robert enlisted in the US Army in November 1964 and served in Vietnam June 1966 to June 1967 and was a member of the 173 Airborne Brigade. He was honorably discharged with the rank of SGT on November 22, 1967.
After serving in the military Bob spent most of his adult life in the steel industry, working in the industry for 40 years. Employed at Edgcomb Steel of New England, US Steel Supply in Boston and Mill Steel in Manchester NH where he retired in 2009.
Bob enjoyed playing golf with friends and playing softball with the Nashua Senior League. In his younger years Bob enjoyed Cross Country Skiing and Tennis.
Bob leaves behind his wife Karen (Markewich) of 40 years of marriage. Two sons, Adam Lemieux and wife Danielle of Merrimack NH and granddaughter Charlotte and Derek Lemieux and partner Tracy of North Carolina. One daughter Leah Ersoylu and husband Sarp of Costa Mesa CA and Granddaughter Sabiha. Two brothers Ray and Winnie Lemieux of Florida and William and Ruthann Lemieux of Florida. Two nieces Nicole Lemieux of New York and Maureen Shankman of Florida and one nephew David Lemieux of New Hampshire.
Bob’s family would like to extend a special “Thank you” to the staff of Home, Health, and Hospice in Merrimack for their care and compassion provided to Bob and his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to Bob’s WALK THROUGH visitation on MONDAY, April 19th from 5 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. A brief prayer service will take place at 6 PM in the Funeral Home during the visitation. Bob’s urn will be interred in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery at a later date in the summer. In lieu of flowers, at Bob’s request, donations may be made in Bob’s name to Home, Health, and Hospice, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054 or to the charity of one’s choice.
