Roland Bonenfant Obituary

Roland S. Bonenfant, 86, of Nashua, died September 25, 2021 after a brief illness. He passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved while his wife of 63 years held his hand.

Roland was born in August 1935, the son of Sylvio Bonenfant and Jeanette (Theriault-Bonenfant) Mccann. Roland was a proud veteran of the United States Navy receiving an honorable discharge. After leaving the Navy he began a long career at Nashua Corporation. While he enjoyed retirement, he wasn't quite ready to stop working so Roland worked at Dugas Fish market. Roland's outgoing personality was well known by the customers he met every day.

Roland and his wife Rose shared a very strong faith together. They are members of Immaculate Conception Church. Father Ray Labrie gave great comfort to Rose and Roland during his illness. The family is very appreciative of his guidance, comfort and prayers.

Roland was a generous, loving, kind man with a magnetic personality. He enjoyed socializing, always making sure to connect with everyone and making sure people felt liked and appreciated. He and his wife loved the beach and often spent time there. He also loved spending time with his friends, going to breakfast, and taking care of his lawn and pool. He enjoyed the New England sports teams often watching the games with his sons. Over the years he never missed a game, karate tournament or a school event of his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; they were his pride and joy. Roland was an avid walker and could often be seen running and walking near his home.

Members of his family include his wife Rose (Fortunato) Bonenfant of Nashua, his sons: Gary Bonenfant and his wife Susan, and Rick and his wife Kim; two grandchildren Christopher Bonenfant and his wife Isabel and their baby on the way; Samantha Wingate and her husband Steven and their children Jackson and Arianna; two sisters: Rachel Jordan of Arizona and Theresa Kulas of Texas. Also, many in-laws', nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many dear friends.

The family would like to recognize Dr. Pierre Dionne and the amazing staff and doctors at St. Joseph Hospital. All of you gave Roland and his family the most compassionate wonderful care during his illness. We are eternally grateful.
