Ronald “Ron” Paul Doucette, 93, passed peacefully on December 6, 2024 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of Cecile (LeBlanc) Doucette with whom he shared 71 years of marriage that included adventures, family, and cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots.
Ron was born in Swampscott, Massachusetts on August 14, 1931. The son of the late Henry and Evelyn Doucette, he graduated from St. Mary’s in Lynn, MA before proudly serving his country in the United States Air National Guard. He continued his service as an engineer for Raytheon where he retired after more than 40 years.
Ron leaves this world with a loving family who can trace so much to his soft-spoken influence. His curiosity about the world was both varied and inspirational: museums, historical sites, science, technology, engineering, aviation, cuisine, travel, and learning. He was an avid reader who was fond of explorers, both of the ocean and the stars. His job took him to three different continents, and well into retirement he still spoke highly of his experiences abroad.
He passed on his interests and curiosity to three generations of family, who will all miss him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four of his daughters, sadly having been predeceased by his daughter Christine: Patricia Marsh of Merrimack, NH, Paula Briggs and her husband Jeff of Francestown, NH, Diane Lennon and her husband David of Hampton, NH, Julie Thompson and her husband Bill of Plainville, MA, and his son-in-law, Christine’s husband, Mark Riesbeck of Tolland CT. He was “Grampa” to eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Coffey of New Port Richie, FL as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Ron’s Funeral Mass on MONDAY, January 6th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. His interment and presentation of military honors will take place on MONDAY, January 6th at 1PM in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Rochette Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
