Theresa E. Galipeau

Our mother, Theresa 'Terry" Galipeau, 93, of Nashua died Monday, December 21, 2020.

Mrs. Galipeau was born May 1, 1927, in Nashua, a daughter of the late Evremond and Clorinthe (LaFrance) Delude.

Terry was the widow of Raymond "Duke" Galipeau, who died in 2011. They shared 63 years of marriage.

Mother was a lifelong resident of Nashua. During WWII she was asked to leave her senior year of high school and become a telephone operator for the war effort. She eventually finished her education and graduated from Nashua High School. She was retired as an employee of the former Fleet Bank.

Matriarch of our family, she enjoyed reading, music, rocking chairs, the beach and all things raspberry. She was a member of Ste Anne's Guild and a lifetime parishioner of St. Louis de Gonzague Church.

Our mother was an exemplary role model who led a life of service.

Generous to a fault, she always put others first. One of her greatest joys in life was a trip she took to Europe with her daughters. She was known to keep an immaculate house. If there is even a speck of dust in heaven, she has already taken care of it. She parented in one way: The Look. If we were engrossed in shenanigans, all it took was The Look to bring us back to proper behavior. No one could outdo her baking skills. No family gathering was complete without her famously delicious tollhouse cookies. Her lemon meringue pie was featured as the main dessert during our holiday festivities with memories of the meringue being 6" high. And everyone looked forward to her gorton.

Mother was predeceased by a daughter, Donna and a son-in-law, Lieutenant Commander J.E. Sullivan; three brothers, Armand, Arthur and Robert Delude; three sisters, Juliette Dugas, Germaine Manning, and Irene Brouillard.

Survivors include two daughters, Gail Galipeau of Nashua and Linda Letendre and her husband, Philip, of Hudson; two granddaughters, Alyson and her husband, Ryan, and Colleen; two great-granddaughters, Sadie and Lucy; one brother, George Delude and his wife, Ginny of Hudson; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Nadeau, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to Theresa’s funeral mass that will be held on THURSDAY, May 20, 2021, a 10AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 West Hollis Street, Nashua. Burial will follow in St. Louis de Gonzague Cemetery, 752 West Hollis St., Nashua.  Everyone is invited to meet at the church.  

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Terry's name to Holy Cross Health Center, 357 Island Pond Rd, Manchester, NH 03109 where she received the best of care.
