Thomas A. Bolton, 83, died peacefully Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Ann Marie “Dee” (Desmarais) Bolton with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.
Tom was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on October 5, 1937, and was the son of the late Charlotte (Gagnon) and Nicholas Bolton. He received his associates degree from New Hampshire Vocational College.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force until he was honorably discharged.
For 23 years, Tom proudly served as a New Hampshire State Trooper. Following his retirement, Tom became a Justice of the Peace and loved to officiate weddings. He also was a bail commissioner, Nashua Police Department Detention Specialist, and worked for the NH District Court System as a security officer.
Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for being a hard worker and always taking care of his family. His most cherished time was spent with his family and friends.
Tom was an amazing presence, always respectful of everyone he met and ready to offer an unexpected laugh. He always made friends wherever he went, included those he arrested. He was extraordinarily strong, which served him well after a devastating motorcycle accident nearly 11 years ago. His resilience and determination gave his family additional time with him that can never be forgotten. His sheer grit was awe inspiring to everyone who met him. They do not make many men like Tom.
In addition to his wife, Ann Marie, he is survived by his two children, Charlotte Bolton Troddyn and her husband, Mark, of Hollis and Thomas G. Bolton and his wife, Jeanine Kilgallen, of Nashua; his five grandchildren, Keenan, Liam, Elliot, Eli, and Lily. He is also survived by his brother, Nicholas Bolton, of Hudson as well as his nieces and nephews, Kathy, Debbie, Karen, Michael, Peggy, Erin, and Danny.
