Thomas Gibbs Obituary

Thomas Gibbs, a lifelong resident of Franklin, passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on July 5, 1951, in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Jean (Gallagher) Gibbs and Charles B. Gibbs.

A proud veteran, Thomas graduated from Belmont High School before serving his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his Navy service, he continued his commitment to his country in the United States Army for 10 years before spending another 20 in the Army National Guard, where he earned a commendation from his commanding general. Thomas was honorably discharged on April 27, 1979.

He dedicated part of his early career to public service as a police officer for the town of Franklin, NH in the 1970s. Thomas later found his professional calling as a CNC operator at Watts Water Technologies, where he worked for over three decades. In addition to his full-time work, he pursued his passion for photography through his business, Photos of Personality.

Beyond his professional life, Thomas deeply loved his pets. His cats, Jasmine, Buffy, and Max brought him immense joy and companionship.

Thomas is survived by his daughter, Kristin Porter, and her husband, Michael; his grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Easabella, and Lillianna; and his great-granddaughter, Khaleesi. He also leaves behind his siblings: Charlene Saunders of Yorktown, VA; Christopher Gibbs of Franklin, NH; Beatrice VanLuyn and her husband Ronald of Mechanicsville, VA; and Keith Gibbs of Pembroke, NH. Thomas will also be remembered by his nieces and nephew: Sharon Van Luyn-Prater and her husband Milton of Yorktown, VA; Jennifer Gibbs of Franklin, NH; Charlie Gibbs and his wife Jamie and Charles VanLuyn. He was predeceased by his sister, Blanche Gibbs, and his nephew, Ronald VanLuyn Jr.

Thomas was interred and received presentation of military honors at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
