Vigdis M. “Disa” Jeglinski (Halldórsdottir), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire.
Disa was born on August 15, 1945, in Reykjavik, Iceland, to Halldór Sölvi Björnsson and Pórey Kristjánsdottir. Proud of her Icelandic roots, she carried her heritage with grace throughout her life, sharing it through language, tradition, and her beautifully hand-knitted Icelandic sweaters, which she crafted for many years.
On January 3, 1965, Disa married the love of her life, Daniel Jeglinski. They celebrated an extraordinary 61 years of marriage on January 3, 2026—a testament to their enduring love, devotion, and partnership.
Vigdis worked for United Health Care as a health claims processor for 18 years, where she was known for her intelligence, dedication, and strong work ethic. Multilingual and incredibly intuitive, Disa possessed a sharp mind and a deep understanding of people, qualities that endeared her to everyone she met.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—regular trips to Foxwoods, lively card games with her best friends of over 60 years, the Hendersons, and hosting warm gatherings with family and friends. A gifted cook, Disa expressed her love through food, always ensuring no one left her table hungry.
Above all else, Vigdis loved her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving presence, and a proud grandmother who cherished her grandchildren deeply. Her kindness, wisdom, and warmth will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband Daniel, Vigdis is survived by her children Erik Jeglinski of Nashua, Kurt Jeglinski and his wife Michelle (Leeds) of Merrimack, and Kris Jeglinski of Nashua; her grandchildren Brandon Jeglinski of Merrimack, Savanna Jeglinski of Merrimack, and Andrew Jeglinski of Merrimack; her siblings Rut Keeler, Dora Capio, Gudrun Jonsson, and Kristján Halldórsson; as well as many nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her siblings Kitty Kowaleski and Aron Halldórsson.
Vigdis will be interred at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
