Vito “Vic” Benedetto passed peacefully into eternal rest on September 6th, 2023. His loving presence will be forever missed. Vic was born February 27, 1939, in Jersey City, NJ to Archangela and Michael Benedetto. He is survived by his sister Madeline Brzoska, and brothers Anthony Benedetto and Michael Benedetto Jr.. Vic is predeceased by his brothers Eugene Benedetto, Nicholas Benedetto, Pasquale Benedetto, Joseph Benedetto, Frank Benedetto, and sister Mary Noto. Vic is also survived by his loving wife, Angela Benedetto, of 63 years, his daughter Donna Beatrice, son-in-law John Beatrice, his son Victor Benedetto, daughter-in-law Tina Benedetto and her son Ian, his sister-in-law Frances Podlinski, his brother-in-law Ronald Podlinksi, niece Lori Podlinski, nephew Ronald Podlinski Jr., he is predeceased by Lisa Podlinski (wife of Ronald Jr.) and is survived by their son, his great-nephew, Dylon Podlinski. Vic leaves behind his grandchildren, Angela Beatrice and Gianna Beatrice. Known as “Papa” to them, he was a doting grandfather who loved his girls with all of his heart as they did to him. He was a selfless man, lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a family man and can be seen in any pictures enjoying a good time with his loved ones. He was working as a longshoreman when he met the love of his life, Angela. Shortly after her graduation, they were married, and she became his world ever since. As his health declined later in life, he moved in with his daughter, Donna, and her family at the beginning of 2023. He was surrounded and supported by family until the end. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend. Everyone who crossed paths with Vic, couldn’t help but love him. His big-hearted laugh and bright smile were enough to put anyone at ease. May he rest in peace and let perpetual light shine upon him.
“May the Lord bless you and keep you. Let his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lifts his countenance upon you and gives you peace; and the blessing of God almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you and remain with you always” Psalm 66.
