WILLIAM E. MOSHER 

NASHUA, N.H.- William E. Mosher, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, N.H. surrounded by his loving family.   

William was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on April 1, 1935 and grew up in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn during the Second World War. He moved to Nashua in 1978 with his wife and daughters.  

William attended St. Jeromes and Midwood High School.  In college, he studied Mechanical Engineering and took various technical courses; including Radio Television and Railroad Electronics.  He also studied Railroad Administration and Locomotive Performance. William took courses in Television Production and attended NH Community College where he took courses in Banking. 

 William taught Boces Adult Education in Nassau County, N.Y. and at the Long Island Railroad.  He developed skill training improvement courses for the state of Massachusetts in conjunction with the B&M Railroad and developed training courses for new locomotives and revitalization of the Budd Commuter Rail Cars. William engineered conversion of Budd Rail Cars into Control Cars for the B&M Railroad and developed and taught US Government CETA Computer Electronics classes at Hesser College.  He also worked with the Long Island Railroad, Boston and Maine Railroad, the St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad, as well as the former Indian Head Bank and Fleet Bank.   

Upon his retirement, William served two terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives; serving on the Transportation Committee and as Chairman of two railroad related committees and a commuter rail restoration taskforce.  He also served on the New Hampshire Commuter Rail Steering Committee.  William was twice a candidate for election as Ward Alderman, most recently was elected three terms to the Nashua Board of Education.   

William is survived by his wife of 51 years, Milvia; 5 children, Laura Vradenburg and her husband Michael, Christopher Mosher and his wife Denise, Lisa Defosses and her husband Ron, Cathrine Blanchette and her husband Mark, Milvia Anastasiou and her husband John; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Rick Mosher.  

Relatives and friends are invited to William’s Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 4:00pm in the Christian Bible Church, 205 Manchester Street, Nashua, NH 03064. Please follow current COVID-19 guidelines as set forth by the CDC.  Arrangements have been entrusted to ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua, N.H. 03060.
