Winifred Dorothy “Winnie” Mae” (McCarthy) Baldassaro, 85, died peacefully at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack on Sunday, October 27, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late John Francis Baldassaro with whom she shared 37 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1998.

Winnie was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts on April 28, 1939 and was the daughter of the late William Jospeh McCarthy and Winifred Dorothy (Lynn) McAloon. She received her education in Massachusetts and graduated from Gloucester High School. She continued her education and graduated from Keene State College with her bachelor's degree in teaching.

For many years she was employed as a kindergarten teacher for the Hillsboro, New Hampshire School System and after starting her family, she happily worked as a substitute teacher in the Nashua School System.

In her free time, Winnie enjoyed doing crafts and reading. She was an avid Boston Celtics fan, never missing a game, always recording it. She loved to cook and host all friends and family in her home, she always had a warm and welcoming presence. Winnie took pride in her home from decorating and interior design to maintaining her garden and creating beautiful bouquets of flowers. She found beauty in the outdoors including trips to the ocean and watching the clouds where she would constantly let her imagination roam. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her loving family, especially her grandchildren.

Winnie is survived by her four children Shawn Baldassaro of AZ, Tamara Cocciardi and her husband Paul of Manchester, Todd Baldassaro and his wife Aimee of Old Saybrook, CT, and Joel Baldassaro and his wife Laura of Nashua; her 11 grandchildren, Kira, Cory, Jeremy and his wife Ashley, Alexa and her husband Jeff, Connor and his wife Daley, Kyle, Evan, Olivia, Maclin, Caden, and Addison.

In addition to her husband, Winnie was predeceased by her son, Scott Baldassaro.

Relatives and friends are invited to Winnie’s visitation on FRIDAY, November 1st from 10 AM until 12 Noon at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 12 Noon. Interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
