Barbara Petra (Meyer) Cosgrove

NASHUA- Barbara Petra (Meyer) Cosgrove, 88, died peacefully Thursday morning, February 2, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Cosgrove who predeceased her on May 19, 1991.

Barbara was born in Mainz, Germany on October 19, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Georg and Else (Ritterbusch) Meyer.

She is survived by her three children, James Cosgrove and his wife Gina of Trumbull, CT, Mary Cosgrove of Nashua, and Michael Cosgrove and his partner Richard Guerette of Nashua;  her four grandchildren, Mia Corcoran and her husband Tom of Parkville, MD, Christopher Cosgrove and his wife Jamie of Shelton, CT, Kathleen Yacharn and her husband Thanapong of Rancho Palos Verde, CA, and Allyson Cosgrove of Southington, CT, as well as 11 great-grandchildren,

In addition to her husband, Barbara was predeceased by her brother Bernd Ritterbusch of Bremen, Germany and her sister, Veronika (Meyer) Bennett of Orillia, Canada.

Barbara became a proud U.S. Citizen, moved to the United States in 1975 and worked for many years at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and Teddy’s Hallmark. She also took great joy in serving as Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

She was deeply loved and will forever be remembered for her faith, love of family and friends, and generous spirit.

Calling hours will be held on MONDAY, February 6th from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Burial will take place in Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua.
