Wilfred Marland OikleSeptember 10, 1936 ~ July 4, 2017 (age 80)
NASHUA- Wilfred M. Oikle, 80, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Nashua surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved wife of Barbara (Bailey) Oikle.
Wilfred was born in Worcester, MA on September 10, 1936 and is the son of the late Wilfred Lee Oikle and Gwendolyn (Sanger) Oikle. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy until he was honorably discharged in September of 1958.
For many years, Wilfred was employed by Centronics in Hudson, NH as a mechanical engineer until his retirement.
In his free time, je enjoyed fishing, hunting, and competitive shooting. He was a lifelong member of the Merrimack NH Fish and Game as well as a past president. He was also a member of the Mountain Man Group and was the Massachusetts Black Powder and Ball Champion Shooter. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Susan Locke and her husband Albert of Dudley, MA, Robin Lee Knight and her husband Jeffrey of Brunswick, ME, and Cheryl Oikle of Virginia Beach, VA, six grandchildren, Sonya Dowling and her husband Michael, Celia Lizzie, Kayleigh Knight, Hayden Knight, Shelly Locke, and Elizabeth Pettengill; six great-grandchildren, Tristan Courounis, Cali Dowling, Caleb Wilfred Matthews, and Matthew, Erin, and Emily Pettengill. He is also survived by his two siblings, Louella of New Hampshire and Arnold Oikle and his wife Carol of Oxbridge, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Wilfred was predeceased by his brother Ronald Oikle.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on TUESDAY, July 11th from 6 until 7 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Military honors will be presented at 6:45 PM. Interment will take place at the convenience of his family.
